Matt Check, guitarist for Cosmic Karma, began his musical journey playing in his Father’s band at twelve years old. Some of his influences as a guitarist are Jerry Garcia, Bela Fleck, Larry Coryell, Allan Holdsworth, and the list goes on.

Saw the Grateful Dead for the first time a year later along with David Perkins (whom he still performs with in Gettin' Weir'd and Last Fair Deal ) along with a considerable chunk of their senior year classmates.
