The Phred Instruments Reprise is a hand built, all solid woods, braced small body arch top guitar. It’s book end solid and pressed flame maple top is bound by hand with mahogany binding. It’s back is arched solid spruce and the sides are mahogany. Our small team of expert luthiers overseas build jazz arch top guitars and every detail of the Reprise is drawn from that tradition: Kerfing within the guitar, nitro finish, 24 frets, 25.5” scale length, arch top style neck joint, Ebony fretboard bound in mahogany, three piece maple neck with a variation on the Dockstar headstock featuring a new Phred Instruments hand-written logo. The Reprise is offered as an entry into the high end small body electric arch top market and it is coupled with Phred Instruments reputation for value and top notch customer service.
Reprise features a dual humbucker setup, with discrete split coil switches and a 3-way pickup toggle for 8 different tone combinations, and is professionally setup with low action and D'Addario 10-46 strings. The frets are leveled, dressed and milled here at our shop in California for a nice smooth and clean feel all around.
The Reprise prototype is currently in production and should be completed by the end of February 2020. The top will be stained the same color as the back. We will post more photos as they are made available to us.
